Jason Clay Lewis is an artist, curator, and Director of The Royal @ RSOAA (gallery) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York. Lewis discusses The Royal gallery's online summer exhibitions, their recently launched online artist-registry, and his artist Interview project begun last year. We also delve into his art practice and discuss his recent paintings as well as his reaction to the Covid-19 lockdown in New York City. The seemingly endless storm of recent events has me thinking of ways artists interpret and process their surroundings. The creation of art reflects the artist’s response to their world, and that can be both beautiful and ugly.

We all find ourselves in a difficult situation, stuck alone in our homes with no physical interaction and connection with family and friends. The work in the exhibition reflects on isolation and the mental hardship of being alone.
