Infinite Insight

November 19th – December 12th, 2021

Curated by Yizhe Huang and Jason Clay Lewis

The Royal @ RSOAA is pleased to present Infinite Insight, a group exhibition curated by Yizhe Huang and Jason Clay Lewis featuring artists Jinyi Liu, Ami Park, and Kate Stone. The Royal welcomes visitors to attend the opening reception of Infinite Insight in person Friday, November 19th, 7 – 9PM.

Contemporary internet culture and its chaotic visual language have deeply infiltrated our daily city life, while endless collisions of information from different cultures and societies can even blur our preceding identities. This show aims to discuss how artists use abstraction to reflect on this idea, as we mostly see figurative works for this genre. Ultimately, this show is about ideas surrounding our alternate personas both online and in the real world.

We hope to explore how the continuously generated images and words from the internet help to shape and facilitate social development and cultural transformation. This is also a Gulliver’s Travels for us – there are always surprises ahead, but there is a way to find a nostalgic existence we genuinely relate to, as everything around us is constantly and rapidly changing.
